If you choose to sign in using Google OAuth, we collect your name and email address from your Google account.
Third-Party Integrations: If you connect third-party services such as Google Sheets to your ForumScout account, we will store secure access tokens that allow us to interact with these services on your behalf. We only access the specific services and data you authorize (e.g., writing to designated Google Sheets).
Cookies and Usage Data: We use session cookies to track the number of searches you perform and to implement rate limiting measures. Login cookies are used to authenticate users during the login process and to facilitate session persistence.
Use of Data
The personal information you provide is used for the following purposes:
To enable user authentication and maintain your account, including authentication through Google OAuth if you choose that sign-in method.
To process transactions through our payment partner, Stripe, which will require sharing your email address and billing details.
To send necessary communication, such as welcome emails via MailJet and AWS SES.
To integrate with third-party services you authorize, such as Google Sheets, to export and sync your ForumScout data (mentions, posts, etc.) to your designated spreadsheets.
To ensure proper functioning of our services and to enhance your user experience.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
ForumScout shares your personal information with third parties in the following circumstances:
Google: If you choose to sign in using Google OAuth, Google authenticates your identity. If you enable the Google Sheets integration, we use Google's APIs to write data to your designated Google Sheets. We only access the specific Google services you authorize and do not access any other Google account data.
Stripe: To process payments, we share your email address and billing details with Stripe.
Amazon Web Services & MailJet: To send you welcome emails and account notifications when you register for ForumScout.
Service Providers: We use various service providers, such as MongoDB for data storage and Vercel for hosting. Your data may be stored in these services, which are secured with encryption and other protective measures.
Data Security
We are committed to protecting your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, and our databases are encrypted at rest. We also implement password protection and other security measures to ensure the safety of your information. Access tokens for third-party integrations (such as Google Sheets) are encrypted before storage and are only used for the specific purposes you authorize.
