The Forum Search Engine That Actually Works in 2024

If you're looking for a forum search engine, you've probably noticed that most of them are outdated or simply don't work.

The main reason for this is that forums are notoriously difficult to index.

They're often stuffed with spam and low-quality content that search engines just don't want to show in their results.

This means that most forum search engines only index a very small fraction of the content they have access to.

I built ForumScout to solve this exact problem.

What is ForumScout?

ForumScout is a free forum search engine.

It supports every publicly accessible forum on the internet.

If someone has posted something on a forum, ForumScout will find it.

There are no restrictions on the number of searches you can make, and you don't even need to create an account.

All filters are available for free, including the ability to search by time, country and domain.

So what's the catch? 🤔

There isn't one - this tool is a free extension of our paid service, which offers 24/7 auto-searches and more advanced features for finding mentions of you keyword(s) online.

I built ForumScout to be the best forum search engine on the internet, and I'm constantly improving it.

Here's why it's the best forum search engine in 2024. 👇

1. Prioritising quantity over quality

This may sound unusual, but hear me out...

If you're using a forum search engine, you're probably looking for exact mentions of a specific keyword or phrase.

You don't care if the content is high-quality or not. You just want to find it. All of it.

That's why ForumScout returns everything it can find.

We don't care if it's spammy or low-quality. If it mentions your keyword, we'll show it to you.

This approach is ideal for a wide variety of use cases, such as:

  • Brand monitoring: Find out what people are saying about your brand online.
  • OSINT: Investigate a person or company by searching for mentions of them online.
  • Competitor spying: Keep an eye on what people are saying about your competitors.
  • Research: Accurately find discussions on a specific topic.

You can probably think of many more use cases than the ones listed above - get creative!

I'd love to hear your ideas. Email me at josh@forumscout.app.

2. Filtering

ForumScout doesn't offer many filters, but the ones it does offer are powerful.

The first filter is time. ⌛

It allows you to search for results published in the last hour, 24 hours, week, month, year, or all time.

This is very useful if you're looking for recent mentions of your brand or a certain topic.

The data is updated almost in real-time, so you can be sure you're getting the most up-to-date results.

The second filter is country. 🌍

Quite simply, it allows you to search for results made from any country of your choice.

For example, you might want to only see results from the United States or the United Kingdom.

The third (and final) filter is domain. 🌐

This allows you to search for results from a specific domain, such as reddit.com or stackoverflow.com.

3. Real-time data

ForumScout updates its data in real-time.

I wrote another article that explains where the data comes from and which forums are supported, which you can read here if you're interested.

The short version is that our forum search engine pulls data from a few different sources, including public/private APIs, and web scraping.

This allows us to 'index' a wide variety of posts, from a huge number of forums.

Each data source is updated at different intervals, but it's usually every few seconds.

The search results you see are a combination of all the data sources we have access to.

This means you're getting the most up-to-date results possible, without relying on us to manually update the data.

I hope this article has given you a better understanding of how ForumScout works and why it's the best forum search engine in 2024.

I know I'm biased, but I genuinely believe it's the best tool out there for finding mentions of your keyword(s) online.

Plus, it's free! 🎉

Thanks for reading, and I hope you find ForumScout's free forum search engine useful.
